A San Luis Obispo man died in a high-speed roll-over wreck early Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
Mohammad Soleimankhani, 32, died at the scene of the crash around 1:30 a.m. on north Highway 1 just south of Gilardi Road, according to CHP officials.
Soleimankhani was driving a Honda Civic around 90 mph near Camp San Luis Obispo, according to witnesses, when he turned to the right, crossed into the far right lane and continued into the shoulder before hitting an asphalt curb, witnesses told CHP officials.
The car struck a dirt embankment and rolled over several times before landing on its wheels facing northwest. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Soleimankhani, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. It was unknown Wednesday morning where he was going or coming from.
The cause of the wreck is being investigated, CHP officials said.
